Got a message from ASDA today that delivery charges are going up to £6.50.
I thought TESCO was bad enough increasing their charges to £4.50 a pop, but Asda charges are outrageous.

  • Different  times slots different prices though. With Tesco it’s £4.5p for any slot. I usually work Asda get the £1.50 slot (now £1.75).

Guessing the loss they make on each Internet delivery is biting now. So hence supermarkets are going to start charging more for delivery. Not surprising really.

Lots of FREE slots for this weekend when I  sign in.

Isn’t click and collect free not home delivery?

Both are still a bargain, in my opinion. The return on the bus is £4.20 for me, delivery to my door for £2.30 more? Yes please. That's ignoring the fact that both offer delivery passes that work out much cheaper if you shop regularly.
Plus you are limited to what you can carry on the bus as well so money well spent in my eyes. (I only take the cheaper slot as not at home during day and for some reason post 6pm is cheaper).

£6.50? I've just logged onto Asda and there are many slots free and lots for £1.50 or £2 during the weekdays. What's this £6.50 come from on the basis it doesn't seem to be the case?

As a shielded customer on the government list, we had a guaranteed Saturday delivery slot.  It must be these that have shot up, because as I said we had a message from ASDA when making our last order. I can't have midweek deliveries because I have so many medical appointments and ASDA can't guarantee what time they will deliver.

I have been shopping online with Asda since lockdown and intend to carry on doing so. I have had no notification of the increase. When does it start ?
