My OH has been made redundant and also just been diagnosed with MS. He is just starting treatment, but at the moment is barely able to walk, concentrate and cannot do much in a day, so no chance of getting another job in the near future. I am self employed and have lost work due to COVID and am therefore not earning nearly enough to pay for the mortgage. OH has applied for PIP and Employment and support allowance. We were already on Universal Credit due to him being demoted before diagnosis. We have 3 children, one of whom is 19 and working part time (has a back injury so until that is healed cannot work full time). I am really worried about how we are going to pay the mortgage, whether we should sell our house and use the equity to buy a flat (which would mean chucking oldest out). I rang the bank for advice and they suggested we put the mortgage in my name only and extend the number of years, but then they wouldn't give me a mortgage as I don't earn enough. I really don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions please. Thank you
