Sounds like a lovely holiday and just shows that you don't have to spend a fortune to have a good time x

Well the mortgage has been overpaid and rounded down to £119,300 for this month. I’m now trying to enjoy the rest of my time off before work starts on Monday.

Other than that I’m trying to generally simplify my life a bit to create more time (especially since work will fill up a lot of it). I’ve been decluttering, but I’m also trying hard to expect less from myself. So what if sometimes I need to buy bread and not make it all myself? I’m trying to let go of perfection! It also goes a bit hand in hand with having less in the cupboards/freezer, but not so little I panic! On a similar note, someone offered two really good quality frozen pizzas on Buy Nothing yesterday (the ones I buy very occasionally as they are expensive). I walked around the corner to pick them up and now I have my emergency food for the freezer! I’ve ordered Riverford for this week and am only getting a small veg box this week as I realistically don’t think we’ll use up a bigger one given the bits and pieces in the fridge and freezer food that needs using up.

Yesterday I made a salmon and broccoli lasagne for dinner (the lasagne sheets are practically elderly and need using up). I now have extra single portions in the freezer ready to take to work for lunches :)

Today I had a doctors appointment this morning so DH took DS to his 2 hour Lego club thing I booked for him a while ago. Meanwhile I took myself blackberry picking and made 4 jars of jam :)

I was on my own for lunch (DH took a pack lunch for them), so I made a beetroot, feta and green lentil salad for myself (determined to get through those lentils!). Dinner was hm pizzas with mozzarella for the kids and added spinach, red onions and courgette for the adults. The kids also had carrot sticks. For dessert I had some of the lemon and coconut cake I made a couple of days ago (kids aren’t keen on it). The kids had strawberries and yogurt/shortbread.

That was a bit of a brain dump, so hopefully it all makes sense! Off to bed now 💤

Well work starts tomorrow, so I've had a quiet day today doing a bit of extra house and garden stuff as I know I'll have a lot less time going forwards.  I've not really done much gardening since holiday and am happy to report I found a lovely cucumber (which we ate for lunch) and a nice courgette growing in the pots.  The kids have had a lovely time playing in the garden all day.  Not sure I am looking forward to commuting in the heat though  :#
Lunch today was cheese omelette with carrot and cucumber sticks for the kids, the adults had mushroom, cheese and red pepper omelettes with a big salad.  For dessert the kids had hm strawberry ice cream in a cone.  Dinner is meatballs in a tomato sauce with spaghetti (already frozen from a bigger batch made).  The kids will have hm chocolate milk and a biscuit for dessert and the adults have some more of the coconut and lemon cake.
I've already packed my lunch for tomorrow - a big salad with beetroot, feta cheese and green lentils with a slice of the cake for afters and my ever present "emergency" banana.

Yep - filled with very cold water and packed next to the lunch bits that don’t need to go in the fridge :)

I’ve been good and taking my lunch in everyday, but misjudged how much tomato pasta was left over from dinner to take and was so hungry I needed to grab something at the station on the way home. I went in intending to get some biscuits or something and came out with carrot sticks and houmous. What’s happened to me?! 😂
