....my DH also just doesn't "see" things...even simple things that are on the stairs waiting to go upstairs....he just walks past and doesn't see them
OMG, I am so with you on this! This is the system I was brought up with, but my BF doesn't recognise it at all and has implied I'm a bit of a weirdo for expecting him to understand that something at the bottom of the stairs needs to be taken up - I was starting to think it was something only my Mum did 🤣!

Time has definitely escaped from me today.  Work is busy and so getting anything done outside of that is pretty impossible.  Still waiting on money coming in from survey cash outs... hopefully tomorrow and then I can be on the next £50 OP block.

Achievements today consisted of thoroughly cleaning the downstairs toilet... that's it.  Although I did finish a bit work thing too, but now behind again and rushing as it's my turn to take DS to bed and then back down for pudding and Bake off.  Looks like I have an agreement with the eBay buyer who wanted a return, so I will sort that out tonight as well.

Lunch was fish finger sandwiches with rocket and either tartare sauce or ketchup.  Dinner was the last of the roast beef as a stir fry with noodles.  Pudding will be the last of the scones, jam and cream... yummy!  DS had a chocolate chip muffin.

Right... off to panic before I can relax for the evening!  I think tomorrow will be worse as I am picking up DS an hour early for his flu vaccination, but still have to do a full day's worth of work.  DH can't help as he is in some essential training 9-5 all week!  I don't think there'll be much money making this week somehow!

Just been rushing around all day.  Tried to do a whole day's worth of work between 9am and 2pm before I needed to take DS for his flu vaccination.😬
    I did manage to also:
    •  Ring up about an order I made where the voucher refused to work for no reason.  They have promised to refund me the voucher amount (£10!)
    • Clean my/DH's bedroom, swapped the duvet for a warmer quilt and cleaned half of the en suite
    • Sorted out the eBay refund (I think!)
I still feel like I'm trying to do two full time jobs in one day though...  paid work gets in the way  :D
Lunch I barely had time for, so made myself and DH cheese on toast with salad.  Dinner was macaroni cheese (more for lunch tomorrow) with veg.  I am going to attempt a chocolate eclair for pudding later... the chocolate content is so low that I hope the baby won't notice 😂.  It was ironic that I randomly decided to buy them in the shop on Monday and then they appear on the Bake off last night!

I really want red wine, chocolate and some nice soft unpasturised cheeses (goats cheese or something) at the moment and it's not very helpful!

Got to that point in the month where I am fed up with extra earnings and it feels pointless.  Seems to happen about now every month.  Definitely looking forward to being paid next week.  I have got my cash outs I was waiting for though, so I am down to £86,244.84 now!  Next target will be under £86,200.

I'm going to need to top up the supermarket gift card this month for next month.  It takes a few working days to appear on there and there won't be time before we shop on a Monday as the first day of November is  Saturday.  Going to make me go into the negative, but as it's for November, I think I will show it in the November expenses instead.

I've been deliberating about whether to switch my cash ISA to one with a better rate of interest (with the same provider), but it only allows 3 withdrawals a year before charges.  It is my emergency fund, so if I need to withdraw I could just do the whole thing anyway.  I'm only hesitating as I'm just not sure whether it is worth it. Rates are so low everywhere I doubt it'll make a difference that is worthwhile... maybe I'll check the rate on it later.

Just had a panic as I just noticed my driving licence has expired 😬.  Luckily, because it was during the lockdown, they have all been automatically extended to the end of the year, so I've just applied for a renewal online.  I'm surprised you don't get a reminder that it is about to expire as I'm hardly likely to remember every 10 years!

Another £14 to find from my car pot, which is about to take a battering for the service and MoT on Friday!

We had that and an MOT, scary times.
To be fair though it's not that we used it that much in lockdown...
But it is annoying that you don't get a reminder.
If it's not adding up, compound it!

Does anyone ever feel like doing the simplest things in life is just too hard?  Simple things shouldn't be this hard!
I tried to put a transaction through online using a voucher I had been sent as a loyalty card holder.  It refused the code for no reason, but I was loath to leave it as there was only one of the item left in stock.  So I ordered it without my discount.  I then rang the next day to complain and to be fair they said they will give me the discount as it was their error, however, I have to wait for the item to arrive here and then ring them.

Today all I tried to do was top up a gift card.  Usually a 2 min job.  Nope, card declined.  It is a new card, but I followed all the instructions in activating it.  Now on the slowest chat of all time online with the bank to sort it out (2 words every 4 minutes and I'm not exaggerating!).  Need it fixed if they have randomly blocked the card as it's where all the joint spending goes!

I want to go back to the old days when (ok only rich people) hired secretaries to deal with their life admin for them!  Sadly I still have a list of tedious admin things to get done this week.... I hope they get better!

I know other people that got reminders, although theirs didn't expire in lockdown.  Maybe they've ditched it, or it's all gone to the wall since Covid-19?  Saying that, I've never had a good experience with DVLA and they've paid me compensation in the past for their general incompetence (despite me saying I didn't want their money and just wanted it sorted and to ensure it didn't happen again to anyone...)

  • I am so with you on that, would love someone just to do all my admin...be that paperwork or even just the washing up  Sadly, I think that I would need to win the lottery to afford that....and given I never play the lottery there is no chance of that!!

It would be great wouldn't it?  A cleaner to come and do everything at least once a week (or maybe even better someone to come and tidy my house for 30-60 mins a day!) and a secretary to come for a few hours a week.  I probably wouldn't know what to do with myself with all that time! 🤣

Oh well.. back to reality and my admin list.  Still need to sort the car insurance as well and I hate doing that every year.
