Well done on getting an interview that is great news I really hope you get a positive result or if not you pursue it and get feedback as it will be helpful for next time. Your puddings always sounds amazing if it was me I would just overeat so we cannot have sweet stuff in the house.

Thanks @CCW007 , @Mrs_Money_Penny and @TallGirl . The good news is that they liked me and I have a second interview on Monday! Fingers crossed.Trying to re-remember all the things I need to get done before the end of the year and am slowly making a list and trying to take some things off it. I did cancel one day of after school club for DS, so that's £12.95 back on the credit card and I just remembered to cancel my cloud storage account as I have switched to another provider. Must also finalise the Xmas present situation and not lose sight of DH and DS's birthdays as they are both close post Xmas.I have decided to defrost the freezer early next week and so I need to clear out as much as I can before then and try to stuff anything left either in the fridge to be used imminently or tetris style into the teeny kitchen freezer. In my head it is doable, but it's a chest freezer with tardis tendencies, so may need to be imaginative in using things up. I've purposely not gone shopping this week to try and use up as much as I can. I did just make another big batch of compote to use up more frozen fruit, so that was the remainder of two bags of fruit gone. I might make a crumble for the weekend to use up more frozen blackberries. I can then restock as I like to have extra in case I am ill or other emergencies happen and we can't go shopping for whatever reason. The carpet fitter is currently here to put a big wire under the carpet in the living room, which was a leftover thing from when I moved the room around. I asked DH to sort out and it has taken 5 years. Took me by surprise as DH didn't even say he'd done it. I think our finances this month are going to take a bit of a hit, so just on damage control right now. Maybe that means he'll get around to putting up the mirror in the hallway soon as I asked him to do that 4 years ago.... it's been hiding under the sofa for ages in a box.Next week is our 10 year wedding anniversary and so we are going out for a Michelin starred lunch. Yes, another budget hit, but it was already planned and it would be sad to do nothing. Also need to make a card for it. I can see a very frugal January and February coming up. Fingers crossed I get this new job (still on 4 days btw) and the recruiter negotiates me a better deal!Still not sorted the car insurance as it looks like I'll have to ring them and zero back from the doctor's surgery, so I'll need to ring them for that as well. Will see if I can catch up on reviewing expenses over the weekend to see where we are. I think we are going to be scraping at pretty much zero at the end of the month, but a risk we are going to dip just under that. Hopefully December will be cheaper as I think I have most presents and I have got my pile of supermarket vouchers to use up - plus no terms worth of after school childcare to book in one go!Am off to gym later tonight, so eating early today (either jacket potato with cheese and kale or beans and cheese OR I might do pesto pasta as I find pasta very helpful before a big gym session). DH and DS are looking after themselves, but there is food there for them to eat!2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

So, I had my interview and I think it was alright, but wasn't as good as the first one. I'm still waiting to hear back as they are interviewing someone else tomorrow and will decide after that. Feeling very sick about it all because this is my perfect job and frankly something like this isn't going to come up again. I will have to look at other jobs and although I'm sure they'll be fine, now I know about this one, it just won't be as good. Trying hard not to think about it, but all I can do is think about it
. Work is more fun by the day and now they've cancelled the Xmas party (a lunch) despite us having the budget to do it, we've been told we are not allowed to spend the money. So depressing at work right now!
Caught up with the joint account finances and right now with the joint account plus what's on the credit card, I am minus £100. Not surprising really given I didn't have the £700 odd free in my monthly budget (used to fund childcare for next term). Just need to make sure I don't overspend next month to get back to zero and then slowly build an EF in there.Right, better run as I've got to go and run a meeting now..2025 decluttering: 3,958🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅
