Need to buy disposable face masks to distribute at work if someone turns up without. Have been paying £25 for 50 but noticed Home Bargains has box of 50 3ply disposales on their website for £7.99. Wondering if anyone on here has used them, and are they ok........price sounds too good to be true. (I know disposales are not very mse but I need disposables.)

I think what is happening is some are selling at a reasonable price given they are now more plentiful, others are selling at an expensive price like when they were in genuinely short supply with high demand.0

It depends on whether they are medical quality or not. The cheaper ones tend not to be but are fine for short term use.1

No, they don't need to be medical grade, just as a 'social' measure, and for perhaps 30 min usage. At this price they qualify, but I just wondered if anyone has bought these particular ones as I would be able to obtain these easily.0

I bought them in store and they're fine1

Bought from Home Bargains @7.99. We, as staff, at work are required to wear 'medical grade' facemasks. Purchased the 7.99 ones for visitors onto the premises. Comparing the two I can see no difference. These are made in China, (but then everything seems to be ), with a manufacturing date of April 2020. My guess is these are churned out and transported without wasting time for government accreditation. They are 3 ply and I can recommend them.1

Husband has N95 for work (although mostly at home). He wears Home Bargain ones to go to supermarket to pick up my prescription.0

I find that the simple 'disposable' ones can be re-used many times: I spray them inside and out with triple strength Milton fluid as soon as I get home. I keep the fluid in a spray bottle in the kitchen and hang them up on my notice board to dry. They end up each week on a 60 degree wash inside a mesh bag. Only problem is the elastic attachment at the side, which comes loose, but a few stitches secures the elastic. So many of these end up in landfill or ultimately in the sea.0
