Failed Payments - 'Reversal'

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong section but I'm in need of assistance with an unusual issue with making payments to some retailers from my current account. I held a Halifax Current account for over 30 years with no issue until around 3 years ago when I found I was unable to make a payment online to CDKEYS. For some reason the payment kept failing whether I used my Visa debit card details or through PayPal. I resorted to asking my wife to complete the purchase which she did with no issue.
Shortly after, I took advantage of the free money for changing my current account and signed up with TSB. I made an attempt to purchase on CDKEYS and was again declined using my debit details and PayPal.
In November 2018 I attempted to purchase a phone from Carphone Warehouse online and ran into the same issue. I called Carphone Warehouse and they said they would process the order manually but this again failed. They would not offer any reason other that their systems has stopped the payment to prevent fraud.
Early this year I made another bank account change to Nationwide to take advantage of the free money. I have made purchases from Argos previously with no issue but in March I was unable to make a purchase of an Xbox game. I called Nationwide and they said there was no issue on their end and the payment had been authorised. I tried speaking to Argos but they do not like taking calls so I gave up and went to make the purchase from Smyths toys where I have also bought previously with no issue. The order was initially accepted but declined shortly after with no definite reason as to why.
Today I attempted to make an order on Argos and again the order would not go through. I spoke to Nationwide who again said they had authorised the payment, as had Visa and there were no issues there but they did tell me that Argos had made a Reversal.
I am unable to get anywhere with Argos and now don't really know where to turn. Am I on some sort of list as a liability and if so why and how would I go about sorting this out? I have no issues with my credit rating showing excellent on Experian and others. I have no defaults of loans or any other financial issues to note.
Can anyone shed any light on this as I'm truly stumped and don't know where to turn.

Orders may be cancelled by our online security system and there are various reasons why this may occur. One of the most common reasons is if the card holder name and/or billing address provided do not match the details that the bank or card provider has on record.
I checked with Nationwide and all details are correct.Today I attempted to make an order on Argos and again the order would not go through. 3 Refusal/problem transactions in 3 years - I would say par for the course.

CDKEYS well know to trigger security systems as they are used by fraudsters.
Argos are often targeted as well given their click & collect service. So the fraudsters get the goods and are gone before account holder realises.
So if Argos reversed it then some details you gave did not match and they were not going to risk losing money.Life in the slow lane1 -

I tried to make a purchase again today. As the shops are closed I was hoping to do a click and collect to grab whilst grocery shopping. Refused yet again.
All my details are correct and unchanged so it's very confusing. I can buy items from Argos eBay without issue but they don't list this particular item on the eBay store.0 -
Perhaps your address/area has been highlighted as a hotspot for fraudsters ordering products - although this doesn't explain why your wife can place orders that you can't:Guard against fraudsters operating in or targeting a specific area – Location Based Alerts use geographical data to search the immediate area around your customer or applicant address, and warn you if multiple third party frauds have recently occurred in that location.https://www.cifas.org.uk/fraud-prevention-community/member-benefits/data/nfd/nfd-features

If it was declined then call you bank and find out if it was their security system. If not then check that the address details you are entering on Argos (or have stored) are EXACTLY the same as the banks. As a slight mismatch will cause issues (Argos have very good security system) which will flag mismatch & decline.
Argos will be busy & timeouts are possible. Which again lead to decline. So start with bank & work back from there.Life in the slow lane0 -

They are the only one who can tell you if it's a security check or a issue with your card.Life in the slow lane1 -
It's a little odd.
Are you doing something odd with the browser, like using a VPN to disguise your geographic location? Or the delivery address not matching the card address etc. Sounds like you're bumping up a fraud protocol somewhere but even your bank may not help much but if they tell you, it's might disclose their procedures which would help people commit fraud.
