Returned to previous job - do we need to inform the lender?

My partner was in a job for a few years and started a new job just before applying for a mortgage which we received an offer for. He was there for over a month before being made redundant (it was new business which started just before Covid-19 and the company ran out of money) but his previous job took him back on the same day and on the same pay as he was previously on (which works out slightly higher than the job he was made redundant from) which he started straight away. Do we need to inform the lender even though he is returning to his previous job (and will not be on probation as he has previously worked here)? His previous job is also included on the mortgage application. I've spoken to a few people and all say that there's no need to tell the lender but would appreciate your thoughts!

It's a change of circumstances and should be reported to the lender.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
