So depressed set backs

Hi
Sorry for the post just need encouragement feeling depressed. I have lurked in the forums and finally in May bit the bullet and re-organised my finances. I will post a SOA but basically I have quite a low take-home pay, live on my own and for the last 3 few years aquired a £5,000 credit card debt. (I have no other debts apart from my mortgage) I know where the money went , I paid to do an OU degree, attended a family wedding abroad and had my drive repaired. The debt was going no where so with the help of some back-dated pay, overtime and cutting back spending. The debt as of July was down to £3000. Then.. my front tooth was broken - I have had to pay £265 to repair but worse my property (loft) has been invaded by rats. I can't tell you how depressed this is making me feel. After exploring other avenues (and the drains) it looks like I could well have a broken drain under an old conservatory. Sewer rats getting into the house. The insurance and local water company won't cover this. I have put down traps and a rat- exterminator firm is helping but after this I will need to track down the source (the drains). My friend recently had a drain problem and was quoted £3,500 and his was a very straight forward problem. My neighbour also has rats and she had a drain company inspect her drains with a camera, they are okay but the rat-catcher looked under my drain cover and said the water wasn't flowing correctly and I should get it checked out. Sorry for the long ramble but, all I can think of is possible £5000 plus of debts added to my name, I feel devastated.

Give your local council a try - they will sometimes help with rat problems. At the very least they should be able to offer advice.3
