OP.  If the error is 100% not yours (just being Devil's Advocate here!) and if the forecast payment date really is November at the earliest, then you could ask your LGPS to pay your pension and lump sum on estimated figures - then re-calculate them once the true figures are known.  But be prepared for them to say no, as it would involve a hellish amount of extra work for them.

@Silvertabby thank you. That is an idea but the LGPS provider team is not in the office and are only contactable via email with a 5-working day reply timescale. Once a dialogue is started with them it can (and did) take weeks.
It seems that at every turn there is an obstacle.
    thanks again
  • Sorry I can only sympathise. I too am at a loss to know what to do about Prudential who have ignored all communication from me ( 10+ letters and emails over 8 months). You are fortunate to be able to get them by phone at all but on the odd occasion I did get through it was always someone who could not help. They delayed my lump sum and commencement of annuity for 8 months and I believe it was deliberate tactics. Their unfair treatment caused me financial loss but nothing I said resulted in a reply from them. The pension was eventually settled in their own sweet time and my request for compensation was met as usual with silence.
I have now raised a complaint with the financial ombudsman but they  say it will be several weeks before they can respond.
I pity anyone who has to deal with Prudential as there is something seriously wrong with their organisation.
