    Like DCFC79, I'm also a Sainsbury's bank customer.

I love it! And I've had no problems with my card whatsover.

  • I had an interest free period with Sainsbury's with no problems whatsoever. Always pay the minimum amount of the first bill manually in plenty of time as well as by DD, just in case.

I’ve recently received my Sainsburys credit card - and my first payment is due to be taken shortly. Having looked at the app - it tells me that my full statement balance will be taken as I’d selected. Did you not install the app on your phone and keep a track to ensure your dd was set up correctly and that the right amount was set to be taken? That’s usually one of the basic ‘must do’s’ when you start a new credit card. (And if that's the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE - you're not doing badly are you?)

Some times if there are issues like the OP is experiencing the customer has caused something for this to happen.

I have had their card for ages, long before the app and set it up to pay by DD in full from the off, never had any issues, I never trust manually payments or minimum payments in case something goes wrong
  • got a Sainsburys card for the balance transfer, no problem what so ever. You need to check your statements and make sure that it says the direct debit will be taken, if not, then you need to pay by other means.
