My washing has backed up over the last 2 months - I barely have the energy to make a cup of tea, let alone think about anything else. because I know what I’m like when I’m capacitated, and because at one time I had six children at home, i’ve plenty of towels and bedding. I haven’t been clothes shopping for over a year though so I need to get some help addressing that.

I’ll buy 10 to 15 pairs of identical socks, same with knickers. Half a dozen vest tops, T-shirts and pjs/ jogging bottoms

I want to replace my king-size duvet this year – it’s too much hard work changing it and folding it for one person. I like the weight of it so I might get a  double duck down one. I’m also hoping to get my cleaner back once or twice a month to help me.

Since Covid and the horrible gastric bug I had, I have started using Dettol laundry disinfectant in the fabric conditioner drawer. It’s probably unnecessary but I can’t shake off these ideas easily

Would love to do 1 wash a week. I am on my own at the moment and I am still doing at least 2/3 washes a week.  4 when bedding needs doing.  I also have king size bedding and 8kg washing machine.  By the time I have put a full set of bedding in there is very little room for anything else.  You need to be able to put a clenched fist vertically on top of the washing, other wise its over loaded. And you can damage the machine.
I do one general wash so pants, socks and general clothes and also bung in my washable face masks and its normally full, one for towels and bath mat, dressing gowns etc, then another one of just tea towels and then lastly every two weeks a bedding washing.
I have lots of socks, pants and numerous pairs of leggings and t-shirts but still need to do at least one general wash a week.  Once my partner is here and him being a big lad I will need to do at least one extra wash a week.
I am amazed you only have one set of bedding that you can get washed and dry in one day.  Summer maybe but not in the depths of winter.  And there was me worrying that I did not had enough with 3 sets for summer and 2 fluffy winter sets!!!!

Well sometimes its not fully dry by evening so I just take the undersheet/protector that is dry, and as long as I have at least 1 pillow with a case I can stand overnight with a duvet without cover and just spray it all over in morning.
I generally know when my machine is overloaded as it makes grinding sounds in drum so I stop and take some things out.
