Recieved P45, but money still due

My last payment from my employer is this week.
On Saturday I recieved my P45 and slip showing what would be paid this week.
There's a payment missing, no reason to expect it not to be paid, on Friday I was informed of it (but not that they had posted the P45, I'm guessing it crossed in departments with the additional payment notice).
Do I get an updated P45? Just wondering really what happens. I don't have a job to go to, so don't need to hand it in, but intrigued.

Once a P45 is issued under no circumstances should a second P45 be issued. There are special instructions for the employer to follow regarding tax deducted from payments made after the P45 has been issued. You should get something from your old employer giving details of the extra payment and HMRC will be advised of the details.
