Re Mortgage

A close friend is going through a divorce and as a result is having to change mortgages. They have never defaulted on the mortgage but due to the previous partners indulgences ended up defaulting on some payments on credit cards. The friend has a very good job and has taken on the debt and ditched a DMP due to the charges. The debt is currently 1/3 of what it was and with the current salary is easily manageable with no payments being missed. Unfortunately due to the previous defaults they are now struggling to find someone prepared to re mortgage which is part of the terms of the divorce. Can anyone recommend any companies that may be able to help?

Most people just use a good broker, the rates may be higher, but it shouldn`t be impossible to find a deal.As regards the other debts, refer them to stepchange, they are a debt charity, and do not charge for DMP`s, i suspect they were using the services of a debt management company with a 30% price tag every month.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
