Neck Massager

Sorry if this is wrong board.
My son suffers terribly with a bad neck and shoulder tension (mainly neck)
I have been looking at the massages online and wondered if anyone had used one and are they any good.  The "shiatsu" ones look pretty good but do they really work?

I bought one on Amazon that’s good, it goes round your neck and has loops that you put your arms in.

If I were you I would have a hard look at his customary posture throughout the day and night. So investigate his pillow(s) and mattress, his chair for work/school etc. and try some small changes to those and evaluate the results. You may find that something that can be changed for free/very cheaply will really help which will be a saving on both purchase price and running costs. The other thing you may not have considered is whether or not he needs glasses/new prescription; I have found that to affect how I hold my head in the past so it's not impossible to imagine it might be a cause if not the whole picture.

When asked for her honest opinion of the shellfish she said "They don't have much personality".

    Thanks goldfinches, interesting observations.
There might be something in what you say as he is overdue an eye test, does computer work at the dining table and his settee is a big squishy one where you tend to slouch.

That's good to hear, I wasn't sure if I'd been too didactic there and thinking that over didn't help me much. Nowadays I tend very much to the "can I solve this without the application of any actual money" type of life but I try to remember that others lives are different from mine. Still, cheaper and greener is good for everyone even Her Majesty eh?
Onwards and upwards to you moonpenny.

Is he working at the moment?  Lots of employers will arrange an assessment of desk/workspace/car ergonomics if the patient is having ask pain.

If he's only young and otherwise fit and healthy its worth getting a GOs opinion to rule out any underlying cause.  Young, healthy people shouldn't be having regular pain.
