Have been declined DIP with nationwide for reasons unknown, you may have read my previous posts.
We have got Decision in principle from Lloyds (our bank) and Halifax.
Husband self employed, many years tax calc proof of earnings, has claimed SE grant due to small effects on earnings. I am employed.
15% deposit, house just under 220,000.
Have had full structural survey completed by sellers (Nationwide requested this through valuation all prior to covid, mortgage app got cancelled due to survey not being carried out in lockdown). Nationwide won't take us now, even though increased deposit from 10-15%
Mortgage broker advised me to apply myself due to the morning bunfight with products (says been trying for weeks with other clients), so we're going alone.
Any advice on a suitable lender?
Many thanks

Bunfight at 15%?
No there isn't - at 10% yes It is tricky but at 15% there are no issues.
Speak to another broker. Get recommendations or if you don't have one some of us who post here are brokers and are identifiable by our signatures. We cannot approach posters but most of us are happy to be pm'd asking for help
Self employed is not an area to be going alone in - for one it takes a month to get an appointment direct and two it is not easy getting approved as self employed2 -
Thanks @haras_n0sirrah, I did yesterday and by 8pm last night we had a txt from Santander saying our full mortgage application has been received! 😃0

Hi, sorry for jumping onto this thread but we are in v similar situation. My husband is self employed and took the grant and we have been turned down by nationwide (our current lender) have you had any luck elsewhere??0

Hi @mitt123 we currently have an application in with Santander, our broker doesn’t think the grant is going to be an issue, but we will see. It’s early days yet. We were also looking at Halifax which broker seemed to think was a good option. Went with Santander as there was no valuation fee. Good luck0
