Hi,
We'd like to port our existing First Direct mortgage when we move house, but are now concerned by what seem to be really long wait times to even get the initial application appointment. So we are looking for other backup options.
Coventry building society looks to be the next best option. Googling though I cannot find any info regarding their current typical timescales for a mortgage application. Does anyone have any recent (Covid) experience please?
Many thanks.

I can't say I've got any with Coventry, but my experience with mortgage applications in general suggests the bigger delays are actually the valuations/conveyancing at the moment so you're likely to face long wait times regardless of who your lender is.0

Well in the event, we've ended up going with Halifax, supported by the very positive feedback from threads on this forum regarding how speedy they are.
And so far they have been super speedy! 3 days from application to valuation, off to a great start :-)0
