Class 2 NI contributions

For a period of time i was self employed (around 10 years) alongside of my part time employment. During this time i paid additional (?Class 2) NI contributions
As i get closer to retirement, I've investigated my state pension, and im surprised to find that im not entitled to the full pension, nor can i make up any deficit according the gov website
Id really like to know what the actual benefits of my additional NI contributions were and why im not going to be paid the full State Pension

Class 2 count towards the state pension but, as with all NI contributions, only full years count. What exactly does your NI record and SP forecast show ?

Self-employed persons and employees who were contracted out will not get the same pension as those who were employed and not contracted out.
