Hi,
I was wondering if anybody had been declined from HSBC due to their credit history?
I'm probably over-thinking, as usual, however we are FTB's with 10% deposit of £19k. We got our MIP yesterday from HSBC, all was ok. We have combined income of £54k but only want to borrow up to £171k. We each have a car loan, but other than that no other debts. My credit on Experian is excellent, Transunion is Good and Equifax is good, however, I had a few missing payments on a phone contract over 4 years ago - they show as a 1, 2 and 3 on my file and then cleared so they didn't default. I also had two 'AP's on my credit file from 2015 (5 years ago) on a store card, which again, were cleared. Other than the two mentioned, there are no other issues.
I spoke to HSBC yesterday before getting our DIP and mentioned these and the guy was really helpful and said that the HSBC criteria on credit reports hasn't changed and usually they look into the last 3 years so he thinks i should be ok but can't obviously say for sure. As I am a worrier though, I am panicking that we will be declined if it comes to applying for a mortgage with them on the basis of my missed payments
Has anybody been through the same thing?

I'd say brokers are very busy at the moment and could do without that headache.
