As mentioned above there is no actual rush and it could be worthwhile searching out an IFA nearer to you.
Transferring old pensions into a new one ready for drawdown is bread and butter work for IFA's, so you should not have any trouble finding someone more local to do that for you.
You should be able to have a face to face or telephone conversation with them - they can certainly outline options for you, but as dunstonh says, they will NOT recommend any specific company.
Good luck!1 -
I ended up with Hill Top ringing me because I typed in 'penny wise' and clicked the first link and answered all the questions. It suggested Hill Top to be my best option. It must automatically direct all pension enquiries to Hill Top - regardless of the postcode you put in, even though they are miles a way from me as well. I've just tried again and found the top link in google is a site called www.adviseme.co.uk - certainly not related to pension wise. I will not be dealing with them as I imagined their advice would be unbiased, because we started by entering 'penny wise' in the address bar. Draw your own conclusions.0

What has "penny wise" got to do with "pension wise"? If you imagine that you can obtain unbiased advice by typing "penny wise" in the address bar of your browser, then my own conclusion would be that you need to understand how Google works.

Yes, I googled Pension Wise (as two separate words) and the very first result, a sponsored advert, was for that adviseme site that bicycle_wheel mentions.

Hi All I just google’d and had the same result as QrizB - “Get Pension Wise” as the head line -clicking on that takes you to the other site. CM0
