Options
So 18 years ago myself and ex got a mortgage in joint names, interest only mortgage and remortgaged twice in that time. We have 3 daughters 16 12 9, one lives with and 2 him. I left him 3 years ago. I now have a rented house. We have a loan on the house to which im paying half, im not paying him anything for the house but i dis pay all of it for 2 years after leaving and the full loan. He hasnt worked for 13 years years i did and paid all the bills. I ve seen the bank whom we have the mortgage and a solicitor, i cant buy him out because i cant afford it he cant do the same, i cant get hime out becaus ehe has the girls in the house, he wont leave the house nor is he making payments on the mortgage or loan secured on the house.

What can i do?
I would take rhe house no problem and pay for it but he refuses but yet refuses to pay for the house he is living in. He refuses to sell! Im lost and im just being forced into debt because of him, i cant pay for the roof over his head as well as my own i work full time and im anursing student i pay my way and always have since 16. I alsi pay for my 2 girls that live with him and again always have. Please can anybody shed any light on a way forward?

You have seen a Solicitor - what advice did they give you?  That is more likely to be correct than advice from random people on a forum responding to a necessarily brief situation appraisal.
  • My youngest girls are 12 and 9 and they ve with dad.
Solicitor states theres nothing i can do as the girls are there.

Possibly best to speak with a solicitor to see what your options are, unfortunately it's usually a case of waiting until the youngest has left school / education and then forcing a sale, which costs thousands.
