NHS & Unspent Conviction

Is there a procedure normally for dealing with declarations?
I applied for an NHS job that does not require a DBS check but because I have a unspent conviction I had to declare in the relevant section so I ticked yes and it said someone would be in touch.
I was interviewed today and nothing has been mentioned or no one has been in touch.
If I was to be made an offer, would they then ask?

They have no need to know until they are on the point of making you an offer - if they decide on the basis of the interview and without taking your conviction into account to offer the job to someone else they have no need to know any details, so rightly haven't asked.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

They might do but probably won't. You did the right thing by declaring it.MarkN88 said:I’d there a procedure normally for dealing with declarations?I applied for an NHS job that does not require a DBS check but because I have a unspent conviction I had to declare in the relevant section so I ticked yes and it said someone would be in touch.I was interviewed today and nothing has been mentioned or no one has been in touch. If I was to be made an offer, would they then ask?
The bigger mistake would have been not to have mentioned it and it come to light later in the process or after you had started.Originally Posted by shortcrust

If it's not relevant to the role NHS generally wont ask.
Just checking you're sure it's not spent? I know it's silly, but many people get this wrong0 -

Ok i wont delve further; as long as they explained that it's the sentence not conviction that makes something spent or not; that's generally all there is to it. (useful for others, even if you knew this already)MarkN88 said:

I work in the NHS myself - it may also depend on the nature of the conviction and the role within the organisation- always best to just be honest and upfront as you have been.
Good Luck
