Basically, never been in debt, then had a breakdown and racked up £50k in a few months. Joined StepChange, and been with them 2/3 years. I’ve got the debts to around 36k. Ranging between £600 to £16000. The biggest one is with PRA and they’re getting about £100 a month. A very good friend has offered to help with my debts and pay about £8-10k. ETA for debt free is 10 years....
My thinking is, do I try give PRA a partial settlement, take out the big one, or take out as many of the small ones as possible? The CCA thing is probably a non starter, as all the debts were done online, so very doubtful they’ll have trouble finding the agreements.

You are making great progress! I'd probably take out the smaller ones and then roll over what they were being paid into the larger ones. Obviously I don't know the circumstances and you don't have to say, but are you sure taking money from a friend is a good idea? Do they expect it back etc? I borrowed money from my parents and I hate the fact I did. I feel embarrassed and also that it has altered the way they see me. If I go for a meal I feel self conscious that they might be thinking 'hang on a second you should be paying us back, not enjoying yourself '. They never said anything it's just how I feel. Just think carefully about it because it could crop up in future and change your relationship.0
