The plastic bags are too cheap, Spending £1 on bags on a £100 shopping trip is irrelevant to many people.

The paper bags are a massive 3 uses only & depending on your source either 30p each or 50p.  The 3 uses of course are depending on you not having to go out in the rain!

Morrison's reckon their all paper carrier bags can hold 13 bottles of wine.
    I don't believe them.................

Seems ideal if people don't like the bags and remember to bring their own instead!  I think I have only once messed up and paid for a shop bag.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Yes think stealing them is cheaper too ;-)

But seriously, they should not do the paper ones either since they show they do not care for the environment either. Buy the proper reusable for a long time ones if you want a bag otherwise  go elsewhere! They are usually under a quid for them (the cheaoper ones) anyway.

Will cause me a lot of pain though. I use the plastic bags for many purposes. And even at 30p it was the best price I could get. I have tried buying plastic bags on amazon etc and they are alwasy too flimsy or too small compared to the supretmarket ones (ok not sainsburys these days, those are tidgy). I more do this I guess I will have to look again at amazon.

Well, I'm sure they've scientifically tested it. I'd be willing to bet they will hold 13 bottles of wine and get you from checkout to store-door without failing. Once you are through the door and into the car-park, you are on your own!

My friends work at supermarkets and there are still customers that have never brought in any bags to reuse. They always bought them. What's wrong with some people? Even during the early lockdown days when you had to queue up for an hour plus, they didn't bother.

Do these people understand they are wasting £120 a year?

Also some councils don't take them for recycling as its the glue.

As for Morrisons bags claiming to hold 13 bottles of wine. If the bag fails between the store and car park, I want Morrisons to refund me and give me the wine for free.

Thing is a plastic carrier bag would stretch before giving way so give you some warning of its imminent failure.
A paper one just........fails straight away.

I have a friend who never takes a bag when he goes shopping.  But at least I have managed to train him to ask me for bags if I am with him.  I just can't bear to watch him chucking money away.  (I make sure I get them back too when he's finished unpacking!)
