BDM

Hi,I wonder if anyone can give me some advice, myself and my partner had an aip with Halifax, so we have a buyer for our property and have had an offer accepted on another, we have a 20% deposit, 2 weeks ago our broker informed us that Halifax whom we already have an existing mortgage with have declined is due to my partners IVA which started in 2013 paid early 2016 although iam aware it’s still on his credit report for 6 years, so he is one year out this October. My broker appealed and lost so now we’ve had an email that his BDM has escalated the case and it’s being referred back to the underwriter for review. Do you think we have a good chance? Or is it a lost cause? It’s so stressful 😢

did the broker know about the IVA and/or request all your credit files

If not I would suggest find another broker

Hi Kelstar1, Should the IVA not have come off your partners credit file in 2019 if it started in 2013 - I thought the information is removed from a credit file 6 years from the date registered not completed?

Yes he knew of the IVA, I think he was surprised we were declined though, as the IVA was started so long ago
