IPA - 4 months away from discharge

Hey,
I am new to the forum, I was hoping someone could offer some advice.
I am 4 months away from bankruptcy discharge, I didn't get put into an IPA at the start, however I have just submitted a new SOA due to a very slight increase in my salary which has then given me a surplus of £30 a month.
The OR has asked me to sign into an IPA which I know will last 3 years. I understand that you need to pay if you have the salary, however I feel that that £36 is not a lot and could be even less some months which will not leave me much room if something urgent comes up.
The OR said they will take me to court if I refuse to go into the IPA which is making me really worried, I don't want to accept it as I feel this is very low, but also don't want to break any rules and get in any trouble.
Has anyone been in this position before and if so, can you please offer any advice?
Thank you in advance.

Debt doctor always says to dispute an IPA that's less than £100 per month.
He's not been around for a while..I'll try to contact him0 -
I reduced my hours at work when they said with 4 months to go that i had to pay £100pm, wrote and explained my income had reduced and they didnt question it, never heard another thing, i was dicharged two weeks ago with no payments to make0

LaurenAYou can still discuss/dispute this with the OR and if your expenses have gone up you should make them aware of that. If you just tell them about an increase in your salary they will assume that money is surplus. If you can get that surplus of £36 below £20 then they are unable to set an IPA.That's about £4 per week you need to spend to get it below that, have any of your household bills gone up due to lockdown? If you are working from home have any of your bills increased? If you have had to increase your direct debits to your utilities then you've got proof your bills have changed.I would suggest setting out your discussion/dispute in writing through an email to your case examiner or the trustee, attaching any proof of increased household expenditure.Hope this helps
