Hybrid Oil Boiler with Air Source Heat Pump

At present my house is heated by radiators supplied from an oil boiler (there is no gas supply where I live).  The boiler is coming to the end of its life so I am looking at replacement options and I was tempted by the Grant VortexAir which is a hybrid combining an oil boiler with an air-source heat pump.  The basic idea is that the heat pump provides heating in milder weather and the oil boiler only needs to be used when the outside air temperatures are lower.  Does anyone have one of these, or has thought about getting one or otherwise have an opinion on the pros and cons?

Hiya. Would this exclude you from the RHI? And if so, would it be better to go a bit bigger with the ASHP, earning the RHI and saving the cost of the oil boiler (and fuel)? Have you looked into ASHP installers and quotes, as they should be sized to account for the heating needs in the coldest years that come around every so often, and will mean 24/7 running to keep up.

I don't think the hybrid excludes me from the RHI.  But your point about a bigger ASHP is well-taken; I just came round to that conclusion myself.
