If you have agreed a four year pay deal can your employer decide to stop the increase for the first 6 months of the last year?

Even if it is written into the employment contract the employer may be looking to reduce costs in the current situation. If the alternatives are not having a payrise or not having a job it might be worth considering which is the lesser evil.
