Mortgage application-new credit card

Hi, I have been waiting to staircase since January due to issues with cladding on my building, the cladding report has just now been accepted and sent to santander who had agreed a mortgage back in January. In the last week, I have taken out a new credit card for balance transfer-so as soon as the transfer has gone over, i will cancel the old card but will this affect my offer? Might santander now do another credit check and potentially not offer it due to the new credit card?
