Checks before completion

We have a mortgage offer from NatWest and due to exchange any day now, to hopefully complete within 2-3 weeks. Can’t remember from my first house purchase whether it’s ok to use existing credit cards to buy stuff e.g a bed whilst waiting for completion (obviously no new credit agreements). Are NatWest one of the ones that run another credit check before completion? Our current provider did when we got our first house. Any new balance will be paid at next statement but not sure if things have changed in the last 5 years?

If you are increasing your unsecured debt over what you told your mortgage lender then it may have an effect if they do further checks. Although the new balance wont show up on your credit file instantly not sure I would risk it, unless it was a few hundred then maybe I would.0

@foxy-stoat thanks. It wouldn’t be an outstanding balance so not increasing debt as such as it will be paid in full when statement is due, but I guess if in doubt, don’t do.0
