Legitimate gaming comps?

Looking for some advice please. Just trying to return to some regular comping after minimal and very sporadic entries over the past several months, mentioned this to my OH who, having never comped before, tried to find some comps with gaming tech prizes *eye roll*
He found gaminggiveaways.co.uk and gamingcompetitions.co.uk, the former of which appears to have free giveaways and pay to enter comps whilst the latter is pay to enter. The pay to enter comps are pretty expensive and I have no idea whether these sites are legit or not. I've never paid to enter comps before but I also reckon free to enter big gaming tech prizes don't come up too often.
So, I'm wondering if anyone please has any advice regarding these specific websites or any others that have regular(ish) gaming tech comps to help me keep on top of at least trying to win the one prize he'd most like
