Silly Question: Can qualified mortgage advisors arrange their own mortgages?

Hi there, 
As the title suggests, my question is, as a cMAP qualified mortgage advisor, can you arrange your own mortgage accessing the products only available through an Intermediary?
That may be an odd-sounding question...but always wondered if there were any rules around that.

A lot of lenders allow it through the agency of the company but don't allow you to do it yourself.   One of my guys just did a mortgage and Santander insisted on another one of the brokers doing it.   That is great if you work in a firm with multiple advisers but not if you are solo.
