Pretty sure that only the Government will know why it has been reduced. I am not sure knowing the reason why it has been reduced will help much though.0

The deferment threshold has always been set at 85% of the average earnings of full time workers in Britain. The reduction is probably due to average wages falling in the current economic situation, and it is not the the first time it has reduced, it did in 2010/11 and 2014/5 too.AlexCL said:Can anybody confirm that the threshold has been reduced to £30. 646?
