Numb little finger (trapped nerve) - when will it go back to normal??

Started about two months ago, after an awkward lift  days later awful pain in my back by my left shoulder blade. After about a week that went away (though can reappear), but then the left arm gave me problems! Either forearm bones ached, triceps ached, and/or shoulder ached. Night-time was the worst - woke up after a couple of hours with the pain - often three times a night! Fortunately, I'm past that now, sleep better - maybe the anti-inflammatories  helped. However, I do still have numbness in the left-hand little finger extending down into the palm of the hand, and the tip of the next finger. Has anyone had anything similar? How did you get your normal feeling back? And also the strength back in the right arm - I find the find the forearm 'complains' if I'm out driving for more than a few miles of urban use - all the gear changes!
I've been through various stages of medical help - at the moment awaiting a MRI scan. Just want to get back to 'normal' but when??
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I think that will be hugely variable depending on what exactly is wrong. Let the investigations take their course and see what the people who can see the results tell you.

My guess on here is that some people will come on and say it hardly took any time at all, and others will say it took ages. Then, of course there'll be those with all the 'helpful' hints and tips that may or may not be relevant to your particular problem and could either make it better sooner, make no difference, or make it considerably worse.

It's not really the sort of question you should ask the internet for answers to! Ask the people treating you.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
  • I had a similar thing a few years ago. Yours may be different but my ickle pinkie is still numb to the touch.

Sounds like its your ulnar nerve, and probably completely unrelated to pulling a muscle in your back, but you need to wait for the results of the scan and see what treatments/approaches are possible, there's nothing anybody here can do or say to help.

Do you play guitar by any chance?

Hope you get it sorted soon.
