Overseas property - FTB

Hello all,

Is anyone aware of a mortgage product that would be available to a first time buyer to buy a property abroad? While my main employment and income are in the UK, I have spent the better part of the last few years working remotely from Germany, and I am considering buying my first home there, to be owner-occupied. Does anyone know of UK mortgages that I could apply for?

I think you'd be better to look at it the other way round, and look for a German lender who will accept income from UK employment. UK lenders will (generally) have no idea how to take security over properties there, how to pursue you through German courts etc.
