Sending Parcel to HK - Parcelcompare seems so expensive!

Hi guys,
So I ordered some items recently, although I now work in HK. I'm asking my sister to send the parcel over & looking for the best deal. I searched on parcelcompare, the package is less than 500g and it quoted £28 as the cheapest! Then I searched on royal mail, seems around £6 for international economy (the old surface mail?) but taking 8 weeks. Is this really the case, is it the best value? And has anyone used it and actually it takes a lot less than 8 weeks? Tks again

I've sent several parcels to my son who lives in HK. If there's no hurry, I've used RM International economy is approx £7 and its never taken 8 weeks. More like 3 - 4. If its for important occasion, like Christmas or birthday, I use RM International standard - approx £10 which takes about a week (longer at Christmas). However, I've only sent letters/docs since Covid struck so don't know what the impact has been.ChipPan_2 said:Hi guys,
