How do you use advantage card points. I've got about £60 worth and not sure how to use them. Do I just mention it at the check out or can I only use them on specific items??
Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!

You can use advantage points to pay for most but not all items in boots. Excluded are baby formula milk under 6 months, prescriptions and a few more things like that. To pay for anything else (gifts, food, nappies, over counter medicine) you have to have the FULL value of your purchase in points i.e. you can't pay 1000 points and 51p for a £10.51 shop.
Make sure you tell the cashier before she rings the items through as she has to input the points bit first or start all over again. Then its simple, the total is deducted from your points total on your card - you do NOT earn points for that transaction so its best still paying for special points offers (spend £25 on baby stuff get 500 points etc...) in cash. However all offers like BOGOF or buy 2 get 1 free still work when you are paying in points!
Go forth and spend!0 -
Yes hand your card over and pay instead of getting the cash out, its a real pleasure!
You can use on products usually marked with a * on the price advertised on shelf.

Hiya
. You picked the wrong board to post your question on unfortunately as this board is meant for posting about short lived bargains. You would probably get more answers on the 'Anything Else' Board.*
(*Edited to say....the I wanna board is good too, lol!)
However, I know the answer to this....so I can help, lol.
If the item you want to buy has an asterisk beside the price on the shelf label, then that means you can use your points to buy it. (If the label is missing or you're not sure....just ask an assistant if it's eligible.)
When you go to the checkout, hand over your card and tell the checkout girl (or guy, I'm not sexist) that you want to pay for your item or items with your points. You must do this first, before she/he starts putting stuff through the till.
You can buy items up to the value of your points, but not over that amount as you can't part pay with points and make the rest up with cash. So if you want to buy something costing £49.99 then you must have at least 4999 points on your card. Less than that amount is no use.
Hope that helps.Herman - MP for all!0 -
