Hotel gone into bankruptcy

My son and his friend have put a £300 deposit down to stay at the Signature Living Hotel in Liverpool for their 21st Birthday. After hearing the chain has gone into administration they now can’t get hold of anyone at the hotel. Does this mean they have lost all their money?

How did they pay the deposit? They might have luck contacting their bank for a charge back or to invoke S75 protection, depending on if they used a debit or credit card respectively0
