If I were you I will go with the mortgage offer at hand. Saving £1k is not much in the grand scheme of getting a mortgage. The next applications might turn sour and you will wonder what happened between last application and new one! The broker has really done a good job and the piece of mind of not having to satisfy the more stringent lending criteria is priceless in getting a home!
Initial mortgage bal £487.5k, current £258k, target £243,750(halfway!)
Mortgage start date first week of July 2019,
Mortgage term 23yrs(end of June 2042🙇🏽♀️),
Target is to pay it off in 10years(by 2030🥳).

The time to decide you did not want to spend a grand on a broker was before you asked them to do the work. I know it is not the same, but imagine your employer said at the end of the month they are going to go and pay someone else to do your job for last month and pay them instead.

We have a fee agreement that says if you pull out after your application goes in we charge an admin fee, might be worth checking over your paperwork to make sure you have not signed something without reading it. We have that because we came across people who have done what you are wanting to do. I dont really mind if people use us or not, I just get annoyed when people have us do a load of work and then decide to go elsewhere. That is wasted time I could have spent looking after other customers or with my little girl.

There is a thread on here from about a month ago which is not too different where they made 3 applications and ended up on the fraud watchlist. It is not uncommon for applications to be submitted slightly differently to each other and that can flag up due to inconsistencies. I dont think this will happen to you with 2 applications, but it could and there is not a lot anyone can do about it.

I am going with the first broker as they got the deal over the line for me as the 2nd broker was only getting the same detail and no guarantee it would come back as mortgage offer again. This lock down has just got me thinking about money.
