Applying for credit post mortgage offer

We've had our formal mortgage offer a few weeks ago and will be moving out on August 28th with contracts completing this week.
My question is now that there is a formal offer of mortgage is there any harm in applying for credit (I.e. Agreeing new contract with Virgin Media for broadband for when we move in). I'm not looking at credit in the form of lending or new car but credit agreements such as applying for a joint bank account and broadband that perform checks. Will that have any impact or is it once a mortgage offer is approved then there are no further searches? Mortgage is with Nationwide if that makes any difference.

I very much doubt that getting a Virgin Media account will make any difference, as long as the fixed monthly costs have already been included in your financial information you gave them.
I would wait for applying for a new bank account though, if they will be an overdraft facility, until after you move in.0 -
You really shouldn’t be trying to arrange broadband on a property until you own it.0
