Formal Grievance {Merged}

I’m trying to keep details where possible vague as not to disclose my identity, the company or any of those involved.

I’m concerned that someone has unlawfully been accessing my account, tracking me etc however I also can not confirm or deny this based solely on the information I have. There may be other reasons, potentially genuine, why this has been occurring but for the life of me I can’t think of any logical, reasonable explanation for this, especially when it is in relation to someones home address, not a work location.

My personal google account has been pinging at the home address of someone within my company. The latest incident was last week however this has since disappeared from my timeline - i have screenshots of this instance and my company where aware of the ongoing situation and could not identify or resolve the issue at the time.

There have been previous instances of this also which are still showing on my timeline. This was for a 3 week period in Oct/Nov 2019 and this happened on 5 occasions. I raised these as an issue and nothing was resolved, evidently. After the events last year passwords were changed and 2 factor was checked to ensure I had everything as secure as possible at my end. My account, particularly for the incident last week was only linked to my personal phone, on mobile data (not wi-fi, I have not connected to the company wi-fi on my personal device for over 30 days) and no other devices were showing on my account.

My company has apparently investigated internally and can find no reason as to why my location would be registering at someones home address. They also can not give assurance this won't happen again as they can not identify cause.

I had raised a formal grievance and i was basically told that they can't do anything more and i need to seek resolution myself.

As you can imagine this is affecting both my work and personal life and is extremely stressful for all involved.

There have not been any other 'pings' to unknown addresses on my timeline as i frequently review. However this particular address has come up numerous times now.

I’ve referred to google and await there response but I am going out of my mind and so I put it to you, the rest of the world. How is this possible, is there a logical reason/explanation, do I raise it with the police, do I await googles outcome first, is my companies response fair that they can not investigate my grievance further and can’t assure there wont be further instances.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as my mind is completely blown. If you need further information in able to assist then please ask away, again I am trying to protect ongoing investigations by keeping stuff relatively vague but I also need answers to keep me sane!

 Thanks in advance

I am not clear at all why you think this is anything to do with your company?  If a work colleague has hacked your personal google account then that is not their problem.

Have you logged on and checked what devices are logged in. I suspect you logged into a company device and simply havent logged out.

I am not sure why it would be an employment matter.

I think you can re-set your account and change passwords should  resolve the issue, I think if you do you can chose to log out of all devises which ought to fix things if you have simply logged in to a different device and never logged out.

All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)
  • The only device showing registered was my own, after the incidents last year my password was reset, all devices wiped from the account and just my phone was added back on.
I've tried to think of everything to rule out all possible causes and even if logged in to a company device which it definitely wasn't why ping at another employees personal address? All company devices where with me at the time of the incident. I am struggling to get my head around it. It would be somewhat understandable if it was on company premises where it pinged because of connections, i.p. address etc but between being on mobile data rather than wi-fi and having all devices with me and only one logged in, i am completely stumped.
  • Sorry i was looking for more tech advice in this forum section as opposed to employment advice in the other. I wasn't sure which would be better suited.

Whatever it is, it's not an emplopyment issue. and your grievance is likely to be the first step in you getting your P45

Sounds more like a matter for the police if you believe you are being hacked.  You should go down that route
