What to expect valuation

I'm a FTB, we were meant to have a desktop valuation but this got changed to a physical one. I had no idea what to expect and couldnt really find an answer anywhere.
I'm going through Nationwide and the surveyor is Countrywide.
Thought I'd just do a little post incase anyone was in my shoes and overly anxious as we had ours done this morning.
He arrived and sat outside writing things down for a good 10 minutes, then came and introduced himself.
He said he needed to take measurements and photos of the property so he proceeded to work his way from front to back and then upstairs measuring the rooms (with a little digital thing) and took photos of each. He asked us a couple of questions about when they were built etc.
Said the report will be done and signed off by the end of today and will go over to Nationwide automatically.
Currently their assessing time is 7 working days from the day after..
Just a waiting game now.
We are renting the property we are buying so I guess people may not often see what happens on this side of things.
Here's hoping it all goes well and gets valued at purchase price!

The survey on the property we are purchasing was carried out on Friday, arranged by our lender. We’ve not heard anything since, not sure what the timescales with survey/valuations are or wether we can expect to hear how it went this week or not 🤷🏻♀️ Is 7 days average?!0

Had our lender instructed valuation done yesterday, by the end of the day received a text to say they'd sent the assessment to the lender. Broker expects to hear something from them tomorrow or Friday...
Same situation as above. We are renting the property we're buying, experience was the same0 -
I guess it depends on your lender.justme200194 said:The survey on the property we are purchasing was carried out on Friday, arranged by our lender. What was the valuation fee charged to you?0 -
Ours is Halifax, no idea what their valuation turnaround time is! Hopefully not too long!lemliss said:
