Transfer

In a bit of a pickle, recently my employer has asked me to transfer to another branch as the branch manager, I never agreed to this until the wages etc were confirmed but unfortunately they have already filled my position and have only today given me my transfer date, the problem being the wage is not acceptable for the role offered so I declined, this has now put me in a very awkward situation due to my current role already being filled, I'm very unsure what my rights are if I even have any or what to do next.

What does your contract say?Rusty1983 said:In a bit of a pickle, recently my employer has asked me to transfer to another branch as the branch manager, I never agreed to this until the wages etc were confirmed but unfortunately they have already filled my position and have only today given me my transfer date, the problem being the wage is not acceptable for the role offered so I declined, this has now put me in a very awkward situation due to my current role already being filled, I'm very unsure what my rights are if I even have any or what to do next.0 -
It would not be unusual for your contract to require you to be mobile where a business or organisation has several branches especially if within relatively easily commutable distances. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I think you need to speak to your boss/bosses and say what you've said above. How can they fill your position when you haven't actually agreed to the transfer? That's not on. Just speak to them and try to sort something out. If you think you deserve more money then tell them, and tell them why. I'm sure they can't just shuffle you around like this.

Reading the OP again, it seems as if this is a promotion and transfer, which the OP is rejecting because they don't think the increased money is sufficient. It would be helpful if the OP could give exact dates as to when everything happened or was offeredIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Thanks everyone,
So there is a mobility clause and the other branch is closer to home, it is larger than the one I currently manage so affectively a promotion of sorts.
It was offered 4 weeks ago, I initially said I was interested but never actually agreed, I asked for clarification on the wage situation as the branch I run at the moment is doing very well so it had to be for the right reasons as the other is not so good.
I was told I will find out in a few days,.
This was then done between the directors as the 2 branches fall in 2 different regions so I will gain a new boss within the company. My director was under the illusion it was all sorted so promoted someone into my position awaiting my transfer which should be next week, I was then told yesterday about the wage which I am not happy with but my transfer date is next Friday. Hope that makes sense0
