Why would a company recall a debt from debt collection agency?

I am just seeking advice as I had a debt of around £1300 with Barclaycard which had been sent to Moorcroft.
I found Barclaycard extremely difficult to deal with as they wouldn't just deal with me through email or a web chat like I would have liked to do - it was always a 'call us' or whatever.
Moorcroft were very simple and I made a payment arrangement due to start back in March - then COVID hit and I couldn't afford to pay it due to furlough. Now that I am back at work I reset it to start on August 1st however when I went to login on August 1st it didn't recognise my details. Moorcroft advised me the debt was recalled by Barclaycard on 29/07.
I am just wondering why this would be (as in what reasons would they have for recalling the debt - I can't grasp it) and is my only option now dealing with Barclaycard who I was already frustrated with?

They may be contemplating selling it
If you are in a position to offer a full and final settlement, now is a good time0 -

Moorcroft only manage accounts on behalf of their clients.Clients quite often recall accounts that are not productive, they will either pass It to another collector, or as FB suspects, they may be about to sell it on.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
