Higher Rate Tax Relief on Epmployer's pension contributions

I have a simple question to which I cannot find a simple answer to online.

I am a higher rate taxpayer. I need to claim back higher rate tax relief for contributions to my SIPP for the past four years. I have separate work pension with Standard Life. Can I claim higher rate tax relief on my employer's contributions to my workplace pension?

If anyone has information on this query it would be very much appreciated.

Employer contributions are paid gross. Employees can't claim any tax relief on them.

No, for the simple reason that since employer contributions aren't taxed to begin with, there's no relief to be had.

    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries

Just to amplify that statement slightly for others reading this thread and pondering...the employer gets tax relief on the employer contributions in the same way they can claim tax relief on, say, employees' wages and other legitimate trading expenses.
