May 2020 - CCJ; Able to get a mortgage or rent?

Hello There, I know CCJ's have been asked, saying this mine has recently been added to my credit file without me knowing, all i received was a solicitors letter asking me to fill the form with my outgoings, they were to review and it wouldn't go to court.  However this wasn't true and i received a CCJ letter 2 days after the solicitors letter.  Long story short, I  I know this will now be on my file for 6 years   I'm paying it off each month but I'm hoping to clear the debt by end of August this year.  I have been told it will show 'paid' or 'satisfied' a month after the debt is fully cleared.  In the meantime I am trying to move and rent, will this affect me renting even though I'm paying this off?  I have been renting somewhere since 2013 and never missed any rent payment or council tax.   Second question, once I have paid the debt, will this affect me to go on the 'help to buy'?  I have been told when creditors look at my file they will see the CCJ but will see it has been paid off and this will of course benefit me.   I'm hearing different things and just need to know the actual correct answer.   Thanks so very much RS199

It will make it difficult to rent or buy yes, it will limit the landlords willing to take you on, you may need to pay a bigger deposit or have a guarentor.
After 6 years the entry will drop off your file, so it won`t be there for ever.

Thank you for your reply.   Can I just confirm, even when i have paid the CCJ in full this will still cause me a problem?  Thanks again...

I would suggest posting on the mortgage forum where there are brokers who can guide you. The banks have started to get extremely tight on their lending criteria - but the boards have other posts from those in a similar situation and I understand there are some specialists who can advise.
