Problems with job on application

Morning,
So after using a broker to get an AIP on a mortgage with NatWest, which was all good, we found a house put and offer in and it got accepted, yay! However, the broker called yesterday and said NatWest need proof that my partner is transferring his job to the new area we are moving to. (It’s an hour away from where we currently live). They have said it’s no plausible that both of us will be commuting for work. I work part time at a jewellers and have done so for 7 years on a £22,000 salary, he is a delivery driver and has been there for 5 months on a £25000 salary approx) They have accepted that I will commute but not him? That’s apparently the only issue with the mortgage but wasn’t a problem at the time the AIP was done which was 3 weeks ago? Has anyone got any advice as I’m not sure what to do! Thanks 😊

Personally never come across natwest asking this question before. A few lenders do but never had them do it. Did anyone give them any indication that your partner would be transferring?0

Yes our mortgage broker did when we went through the AIP and there was no issue. Typical now we have found a house and put an offer in the question it 😩0

An underwriter doesnt usually asses a case at AIP stage. Its usually just a pass/fail with them. It would only be picked up on full application. So is he transferring or is he commuting? If he is commuting then why did the broker say otherwise in the aip?0
