I have 8x as much and two funds, a global tracker and a money market fund, the latter is only because the damping effect gives a higher SWR given sequence or return risk. Total fees drag is below 0.2%I think....1

For me, with about £400k, 9 funds work, global equity tracker, global bond tracker, emerging market tracker, property, cash/money market and 4 regional equity trackers. But that's because I enjoy monitoring regularly to get the proportions I want. A simpler alternative would be a single multi-asset fundloose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.1

For 91k I would have bought a Vanguard multi-asset fund. You’ll get awesome diversification. The costs could be lowered but its not worth it until the assets grow a bit more, like to 300k. For under 150k Van offers a good deal combined with awesome simplicity.Doing charity is great. Everyone should. Not a good idea to mix it with pensions. For one thing, your idea of “responsible “ might be different from the fund’s.2

I have just transferred out my pension to a new provider and am in the process of selecting funds to invest in a SIPP. I understand that if I choose too many funds, the pot will be overly diversified. How many funds should I select for a pot worth approximately £91K? Many thanks for any advice.A global equity tracker fund and a global smaller cos fund.Split 80/20 though I'm thinking of going somewhere between 70/30 to 50/50.1 -
Top performing indexes for UK investors over the past 25 years (with income reinvested) are the S&P 500 followed by the FTSE MidCap.1
