Amigo adds Interest to a loan paid off!!
Options
I had (very stupidly) several loans with Amigo starting with a £4000.I then had a top up loan ( a new loan) as you cannot have 2 loans of £4750 of which i received just £496 as the rest went on the settle the old £4000 agreement.I then had 2 more top ups.I have successfully complained that I should never have been given the loans and 3 have been upheld with only the first loan of £4000 being deemed affordable. They are releasing my Guarantor and removing interest from 3 of the loans.
They have though added on £2939 of unpaid interest from my first loan as it did not run its course so they missed out on the interest payments.I have spoken to them stating that the first agreement was settled with the 2 nd agreement and they replied it was paid off with their money but surely regardless how it was settled you cannot claim for missed interest.I did say so if i had paid using my one money then taken a 2nd loan out with them would i be liable for the missing interest.I had no response just that's how it works. Please someone help me shed light onto this.

You'll need to post up the details, but a loan paid off early would not have future interest added beyond the two months early settlement.0

Reading the OP I assume that Amigo are arguing that it was only the "top-up" parts of loans 2,3 and 4 that were unaffordable, not the parts that paid off the existing loan. Hence effectively only refunding part of the interest.
Much as I hate to agree with them, I can understand the argument if the first loan is still deemed affordable.0 -
As i had the top ups on my account it then stated agreement settled for the one before. It also states on their website that you only pay interest for as long as you have the loan.I have messaged them back requesting for of an insight but have also taken it further,0

If by further you mean FOS, you'll need to backtrack on that until you've gone through Amigo's complaint procedure.0
