HTB - Do we need to reapply?

Hi. We were supposed to complete end of July this year but due to the we-all-know-what, it’s been moved to November. I remember when we applied for HTB last year (December), I read that we should complete within 9 months (not sure if it’s exact 9). Now since it’s been delayed do we need to reapply again or request for an extension? I asked our solicitor about this but she said we don’t need to do anything, it’s the seller’s solicitor that needs to reapply if an extension is required. Is this correct? I’m concerned because i read in one of the home accounts i follow in IG they said they need to request for HTB extension. Now im not sure if my solicitor is right when she said that we don’t need to do anything. Btw, we got our Authority to Proceed last January, we also exchanged that month.

Thank you.

    That all depends .
Who filled the HTB ? if it was you you need to ask for extension to the deadline .
Get documents from the developer that it will be delayed , call you htb agent and talk to them , they don't bite and given everything they do understand current market, but they need paperwork for it so sort this out with the builder first .
  • Update! As advised, we called HTB and they confirmed that we don’t have to do anything on our side, it’s the developer who will need to request for the extension. I should have just trusted our solicitor in the first place. Hahahahaha.
